Klas Bon Fanm Tout Bon -- The Godly Woman Class

Last Tuesday afternoon, 3 October 2006, Mme Gesson and I gave an entrance exam for the ladies would want to be part of the Proverbs 31 based Godly Woman Class -- Klas Bon Fanm Tout Bon. Here are the women taking their exam. The next day 16 of our BTI students took the test for the version of the class for the young women.

The first meeting of the adult class is tomorrow, 10 October. The young women meet Wednesday and Thursday, the 11th and 12. We will start the year out with a study and disscussion of the Proverbs 31 Woman and then spend the rest of the year learning how to put that into practice. Please keep these women in your prayers this year as they learn skills and how to apply Scripture so they can have a home set apart for the Lord. Pray for Mme Gesson, Barb Van Schoyck, myself and the other teachers as we share our hearts with these ladies.

From the 20 women who took the test, we chose 15 women for the class. Lets meet the ladies who will be in the class this year.
Almide Evariste is from Pignon. Pignon is our closest "big town" just north of HAFF on National Route 3.
Benitha Pierre is from Port-au-Ciel (meaning Door of Heaven). Port-au-Ciel is east of Pignon across the Bouyaha River. Benitha says it takes her 2 hours to come to HAFF.
Ellena Docteur is from LaJeune, the next rural area north of Bohoc. 

Guerline Geffrard is from Coupeal to the east and south of HAFF across the Bouyaha river. It takes her about 3 1/2 hours to walk to HAFF, she says.
Guylene Joseph is from Leon a small rural area south of HAFF across the Bohoc river. Guylene will have about an hour and a half commute by foot to get to class.
J'inuore Meronne is from Bohoc.
Josianie Pierre is from Pignon, the town just about 6 miles north of HAFF.  

Linoise Paul is from Pla-ton-chen. We are not sure where Pla-ton-chen is, which would suggest that it is far away. But Linoise says she only walks an hour to go from HAFF to her house.
Lucianie Estil is from Grand Latanier south of HAFF. She also has about an hour walk one way to come to the class.
Milienne Toriste is from a far part of LaJeune, the rural community just north of HAFF. She is the mother of a couple of BTI students and she is very active as a community leader.
Mona Paul is from the Jean Pierre area of LaJeune. She was a late addition to the class -- her sister gave up her place for her. 

Nelie Dorvil is from Cavaillon (pronounced Kahv-eye-yohn). That is east of HAFF across the Bouyaha River.
Nemie Pierre is from right here in Bohoc.
Ronise Cene is from Grand Latanier -- about an hour's walk south of HAFF. She is a former BTI student.
Silfira Jean is from Dyandyoukou (pronounced Djahn-djoo-koo) which is also across the river from HAFF. It is not quite as far as Cavaillon. 

Bon Jen Fanm Tout Bon Class -- Godly Young Woman Class

Last Wednesday, 4 October 2006, 16 young women BTI students sat for an entrance exam to apply for one of 12 spaces in the Godly Young Woman class -- Klas Bon Jen Fanm Tout Bon -- based on Proverbs 31: 10-31. Here are 2 photos of the girls taking the test.














Only the 8th, 10th and 11th graders were eligible to be in the class. We want the 7th graders to take this year to get used to secondary school. And Met Phanes, the head master wants the 9th graders and the Rheto and Philo class to concentrate on preparing for the national exams in June.

Now let's meet the young ladies who will be this years Godly Young Women. 

Adna Cene of Grand Latanier is in 10th grade. She is the sister of Ronise Cene in the Bon Fanm class. She walks about an hour to come to school.
Danise Isaac of Cercady is in 8th grade. She has about an hour walk to get home in the afternoons.
Dieula Joseph of Caiman is in 8th grade. Her daily commute to school and back is about an hour each way.
Gladise Amizard is from LaPila. She is in 8th grade and walks about half an hour to get to school and back. 

Ivika Etienne from Cercady is in 8th grade. She walks 40 minutes one way to come to school.
Joanne Nancie Alce is from right here in Bohoc. She is in 10th grade and only has a 10 minute walk to get to school.
Judithe Pierre from LaPila is in 8th grade. She walks 40 minutes to get home from school.
Lumenia (nickname Juna) Donacien of Bohoc is in 8th grade. She has a twin sister Lumania going to another school this year. She only has about a 5 minute walk to get home after class.  

Junie Mompremier from Bohoc is in 8th grade. Her father, Justin, is the coordinator of the Primary School Teacher Training program and her mother, Dieula, is a former BTI student and was in the first Bon Fanm class.
Nannecie Prophete from LaJeune is in 11th grade. She is a relatively new student to BTI and I have not had her in class. I am looking forward to getting to know her.
Phara Joseph of Pignon is in 8th grade. She has a good hour or more to walk to come to school and to get home again.
Talita Saintamour from LaJeune is in 10th grade. She is fairly new to BTI as well, but she is the neice of my cook and her siblings have been in school with us. 

Philo Class Prayer

This morning at 9:00 am, the Philo class (grade 13) met for a service of Thanksgiving. Just as they met in June as Rhetos to ask the Lord's favor for their National Exams, so now they wanted to meet again and express their gratitude for that favor. The service started with Scripture reading,
continued with prayer,

and didn't forget praise.
The student prompted and led service continued for over an hour, alternating scripture, prayer and praise. Keep these young people in prayer as they finish their secondary education this year. Pray not only that they would learn the academics, but that they would grow in grace and favor with the Lord and grow daily in the fear of the Lord. This service is a good indicator of their hearts.
