An Easter Monday gift

This morning I got an unexpected bonus of spending part of my break on the west coast of Florida.
It started as a red glow in the dark sky on the horizon. Soon we could see the bright orange, yellow glow rising through trees. The Space Shuttle Discovery was being launched from Kennedy Space Center and I was in North Fort Myers -- all the way across the state -- watching in the pre-dawn coolness with Martin and Bonnie Price. The following link takes you to photos (including the one posted at the left) from the Fox station in Tampa Bay, FL, north of Fort Myers. These are professional photos, taken from much closer, but still, the later photos give an idea of what we saw this morning.
