The Second Annual BTI Soccer Festival
The students of BTI decided, for the second year, that each class would field a soccer team and would play a championship tournament culminating in a big party at BTI. So, the various classes played one another -- 9th vs 10th grade, 7th vs 8th grade, 13th grade vs 11th grade, etc. The elimination rounds were held on Tuesday and the final on Wednesday.
The teachers even fielded a team! In the first round, they played the 12th grade. They lost. Four to nothing. But, the teachers played hard and held the 12th grade scoreless for a good part of the first half of the game.
Ultimately, the 12th grade won the tournament! They played the 7th grade in the final! The game was scoreless right till the end, and the 12 grade won in a shoot out by one point!!! We will have some very good soccer players for the BTI team for many years to come if these 7th grade players can stay in school!
Friday was the party at BTI. The students spent Thursday afternoon and early Friday morning decorating the school yard, the rooms that would be used and the gazebo. The sign in the arch says, "Welcome to all" on one side and, "With regret, good bye" on the other!
